Die Kaiserpassage beginnt an der Ecke <lex id="top-1431">Kaiser-</lex> und <lex id="top-2864">Waldstraße</lex> und endet bei der <lex id="top-0024">Akademiestraße</lex>. Sie hieß 1887 Kaiser-Wilhelm-Passage, 1915 Kaiser-Wilhelm-Halle, 1919 Kaiserhalle, 1924 Kaiserpassage und seit 1938 Passage. Kaiserpassage heißt sie wieder seit 1953.<br />

Es handelt sich um eine überdachte, von Läden gesäumte Ladenpassage, wie sie im 19. Jahrhundert zunächst in Paris entstanden war. Die neue, nach Plänen von <lex id="bio-1018">Gustav Ziegler</lex> erbaute Passage, verfügte über elektrische Beleuchtung.<br />
<br />
Im <lex id="ereig-0074">Zweiten Weltkrieg</lex> mit den angrenzenden Häusen weitgehend zerstört, entstanden nach dem Krieg zunächst einige provisorische Gebäude, 1957 in der Mitte der Passage, direkt am neu geschaffenen Passagehof, das Kino <lex id="ins-0817">Die Kurbel</lex>.<br />
